The World In 30 Years :)

The world, 30 years into the future will be an adventure. I personally don't think it would be too high tech, but there would be some huge changes in technology. I think that ever car would be powered by oil or something of the sort. Some cars today are being worked on to be powered by other things other than gas. Also i think in 30 years we would have a cure for A.I.D.S and also cancer. The scientists are very close to those cures now but sadly to say they jusy need a little more time.

In the schools instead of us getting our own food there would be a machine to have you pick what you want and it just fix it for you. The future in my opinion has alot in store for the human race. And i hope i will be alive to see it.

The Internet: A Clear and Present Danger?

This article basically is talking about how the internet can effect you if and when you use it. From paying online bills to just looking at internet sights can ruin your life. When she first starts off her article she metions some examples of how the internet can effect you, in my opinion i think there should be some type of law to stop all of these problems. Even though paying your bills online saves paper and things i think that there should be better protect on EVERY site on the internet.

I think it was a good way to start off the essay because it shows how much the internet can damage your life and it's also showing why there should be laws and better protection on the internet.

Blog Five: Alice In Wonderland

Wow I cannot wait to see Alice In Wonderland! This is one of the many childhood stories that I have grown up on and I am happy about the fact that it's a bigger and better version coming out about it. The visuals alone makes me want to see it. It's in 3-D and the colors alone are just beautiful. I think most people would want to go and see it because, we all want to know what happens to Alice when she goes back to her world. We all want to know if she deciedes to go back and stay. On the plus side Johnny Deep is a really good actor and he makes you want to see it even more.

Blog Four: She's the Man!!

She's the man is a movie starring Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum. It is a fun filled movie with lots of humor in it. The movie is about a young girl named Violet who trys to help her brother succesed by taking his place in college in pertending to be him. Crazy huh? During her challenge to play the role as a "dude" she comes to realize that being a guy IS NOT easy. Showering when no ones around, trying to fit in with the guys without trying to show your girl side is not all that easy.

You would adore this movie because it shows that women are not that far from men. Women could throw a football and wrestle just as good as them. You would love this movie :)

Less Privacy is Good for Us (and You)

In this article Etzioni came across some really good points when she talks about privacy in America. But I do agree with the point she is trying to make. She is basically using "sarcastic humor" in her article. What I mean by that is, she is makeing points on how the world doesn't give us enough privacy. For instance when she says " courts have allowed mandatory drug testing of those who directly have the lives of others in their hands" thats a good thing to do because you don't want anyone coming to work high, but still whos business is it anyway if you do drugs or not?

The question I have been asked is How does Etzioni's article help readers to see the complexity of privacy issues? My answer to that is, it helps me see the issue of the government just trying to be in everybodies business. Somethings are meant to be secret and by reading this article it helps me see that the government goes above and beyond to know what you up too. Things like drug testing and background checks are nessasary when you have a job dealing with other human beings, but do they need to know that if your just a electrican? I will never understand the government.

Immokalee

I have learned alot in these two videos. I didn't know so much has originated from Immokalee, fl. In these videos Hispanics and Native Americans were mainly represented in the videos. Its showed us how they came about and what they did to make Immokalee what it is today. Immokalee differs from Fort Myers so much. I was born and raised here and i have never know of this city grown crops or forming another industry like the Native Americans did for Immokalee.

In my opinion Immokalee is more like the "New" American Dream. What i mean by that is there showing that they have come to america for a purpose and is to get the job done so they could support there families. They weren't trying to buy fancy cars and big houses, they were makeing a names for themselves by growing crops and i dont think they realized it. In 10 years i think Immokalle would be bigger and better with more crops and more tourist sooner or later im going to be makeing a trip down to the growing city!

Shajarian Stevens- America!!!

Out of the two articles: Who and What Is American and A Quilt of a Country: Out of Many, One? I felt that A Quilt of a Country: Out of Many, One? was the one that really described citizenship. I mean, the article was basically saying that we all are different people and that no matter what color our skin is or the way we were our hair, we still all come together as one big country just like a quilt. This particlar article in my opinion was based off of Martin Luther King Jr. I Have A Dream speech. Saying that we may look different but we all were created equal and should be treated no difrently.

The reason why i didn't choose the Who and What Is American is because i felt like that article was "pin pointing" certain people. For example when the aurthor was judgeing senators and others on them getting divocred and things and it being in the public, i felt like that's the ameican life. You go throught those things but the aurthor was makeing it seem like those were bad things like you shouldn't be called an american if you go through those things, and i didn't agree with the aurthor through out the whole article. On the other hand i did agree 100% with the article that i chose because the aurthor made really good points and i think everyone shoud see the world on her view.
